Whereas traffic safety concerns have been raised at the intersection of John Street and County Road 8 requiring consideration of a 4-way stop; and Whereas the County is the responsible authority for this intersection and may conduct intersection assessments subject to a request, including a resolution from local council, and payment; and Regular Council - 1p.m. Minutes June 4, 2025 Page 2 of 7 Whereas the County has indicated a fee of $750 is required to complete the preliminary inspection; and Whereas funds from the Transportation Category of the Operating Budget be used to cover this expense Now therefore be it resolved that Council direct staff to submit a formal request to the County for a preliminary inspection for the potential installation of a 4-way stop at the Gould, Crawford and John Street intersections with County Road 8; And further that Council authorize the payment of the $750 inspection fee, to be timeline.

That Council of the Township of Whitewater Region rescind Resolution # 2023-4915 as amended: Whereas, licensed hauled sewage spreading site are not permitted to accept waste during the winter months and a such, waste is diverted to regional sewage treatment plants for processing; Whereas, the Township of Whitewater Region received a request from a local hauled sewage business for the Township to examine opportunities to accept the septage waste in the Cobden Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). Therefore be it resolved that Council of the Township of Whitewater Region direct staff to prepare a report to council regarding the implications and anticipated cost of allowing septage at the Cobden WWTP.
